31 Week Update

I cut my hair on Saturday!  It is a little shorter than I wanted, but I do like it!

How Far Along: 31 weeks
Total Weight Gain: 10-11 lbs.  My home scale says 10, but I was up 11lbs at my doctor’s appointment
Maternity Clothes: For sure!
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Still on my wake up between 2-4 am and go downstairs to watch tv for an hour kick.
Best Moment This Week: Finding out that Lucky is doing well!
Miss Anything: Not really anything this week.

Movement: Lots of movement, and I love it!
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: It is getting harder to breathe when I put my shoes on and shave my legs, I have to take a deep breath before going down to do those things.
Belly Button In or Out: In during the morning and half out at night…we are getting closer to full out at night though.
Wedding Rings On or Off: On, I have been lucky that nothing seems to have swelled up yet.
Feeling: I am feeling much better after the nurse called me on Friday and said that Lucky is doing well.  Even though she is in the 30th percentile, they said they don’t worry unless she is under the 10th percentile.  They said my amniotic fluid is normal, but on the low side, so I have to make sure I keep my liquid intake up.
Exercise:  Still doing weights/squats and trying to take Winnie for longer walks.
Looking Forward To: Starting to paint the bench that will be going in Lucky’s room.  Brian and I have been sanding it down for the past few weekends and it is almost at painting stage!

 Next Appointment: October 10th

Quick Update

In my post yesterday I mentioned going in for an ultrasound because I was measuring small from the outside. I just spoke to the nurse - she said Lucky is in the 30th percentile which is normal - they only start to get concerned if she were to drop down below the 10th percentile.

She said my amniotic fluids were within the normal range, but on the low side of normal so i just need to watch my fluid intake and they may have me do another ultrasound in a week or two to make sure the fluids stay within the normal range.

But overall she said baby is doing well!  Phew

Couple of things & a Nursery Progress Update

I went for my regular OB appointment on Tuesday (this one was 3 weeks after that last time I was there).  All seemed good except I am still measuring small from the outside so she had me go get an ultrasound a few days later.

I had the ultrasound today and it seemed to go well - they do it at a different location by an ultrasound tech, so now I have to wait for my doctor to call me with the official results.  Lucky was moving around like crazy!  She is in a breech position currently, but the tech said she has plenty of time to move.  Her position made it hard for the tech to get some pictures and confirm that she is still a girl.  She said she looks to be about 2 lbs 10 oz, which Dr. Google says puts her a bit behind my OB "official" due date by a little over a week, but since I know I ovulated late this doesn't really bother me.  Now I just have to sit tight for the official word from the OB.

For your viewing pleasure, a picture of Lucky's profile:

And now for a nursery progress update.  We have gotten a few things delivered, but it is still far from complete, as we still need to hang things on the walls and I need to finish sanding and painting the bench that is in the garage.

This one is random that I found on my camera - it is our bunny Stewie out playing in the backyard.

Here is a picture of the nursery in progress - we picked up the glider and put down the rug, plus we got some items to hang on the walls.

Here is the dresser and the mirror on the floor.  On top of the dresser is the diaper cake that my coworker made me!

Winnie of course wanted to pose in the nursery.

Here is a picture of the crib plus some prints I got from etsy and framed.  The theme of yellow and gray with giraffes and elephants is coming alive!
I saw this poster on pinterest.com a while back.  My mom found it on allposters.com and got it for us!

Hopefully the nursery will be complete for my next nursery update post!

30 Week Update

How Far Along: 30 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I feel like my home scale is broken. I weighed myself this morning and it says I am up 9 lbs, but I feel like I am up more. I will find out tomorrow at my OB appointment!
Maternity Clothes: Yes, mixed with some non-maternity shirts
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Meh, still waking up in the night and not able to get back to sleep – looks like it will be this way for good.
Best Moment This Week: Birthday/Anniversary week was good all around – lots of yummy eats and fun!
Miss Anything: Running.  My friends are training for a ½ marathon that I did with them last year and it feels weird sitting on the sidelines while they train.

Movement: Lots of lovely movement!  Not every hour is filled with kicks, but during her active time she sure is active!
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: Some light heartburn.
Belly Button In or Out: In, but getting closer to being out
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: We shall see how I am feeling after my appointment tomorrow.  If I am still measuring small I will go in for an ultrasound – I am hoping if that is the case that the u/s will show that all is well with Lucky, it is just the way I am carrying her.  I have had some real moments of panic this week that things aren’t right, so I would like all of those fears to be put to rest at the appointment.  I am also a little nervous that I may not have gained any weight since I was last at the OB 3 weeks ago.
Exercise:  Still doing weights/squats and trying to take Winnie for longer walks.
Looking Forward To: OB appointment tomorrow

 Next Appointment: September 24th

29 Week Update

There is Winnie sneaking in the picture again!

How Far Along: 29 weeks
Total Weight Gain: Still hovering between 8-9 lbs gained.  Even though my weight hasn’t increased significantly, my belly looks bigger, so that is the important thing I guess!
Maternity Clothes: Yes
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Last night I slept 7 hours straight without waking up and it was glorious.  When I did wake up I was like “whoa what just happened”  I guess I am so used to waking up constantly through the night!
Best Moment This Week: Picking up the glider for Lucky’s room.  Now that we have all but one piece of furniture in there we can begin to hang things on the wall.
Miss Anything: Still missing running a bit.  Brian went for a 10 mile run this morning before work and he said “what did you do this morning” and I said “I took Winnie on a nice walk” I guess it is just tough for me to go from running down to walking.  Although yesterday we took Winnie on a lengthy walk through some trails that had hills and that was a pretty decent work out.  I should just be grateful that I am still able to go on walks!

Movement: Definitely kicking more throughout the day now.  At first it was mostly morning then night time, but now she is active at points during the day too.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: My back has been a little achy this week.
Belly Button In or Out: In, but at night it looks like it is getting ready to pop out, then the next morning it is back in.  At the beginning I thought my belly button was too much of an “inny” to pop out, but now I don’t think that is the case.
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: I have been feeling good, but still a little weary about “being small” as it seems everyone I meet that I haven’t seen in a while says “wow you are so small” meaning my belly size (not my overall person size as I am an averaged size person).  I am sure in the end I will look back on this and think that being smaller in the belly was a good thing at this point and an easier way to go through pregnancy, but right now I just wish I had a nice big belly.  In a lot of my clothes I still look like I am in the “fat” stage of pregnancy and not the “big beautiful belly” stage.
Exercise:  I covered this above for the most part.  I am trying to stay active even though running isn’t in the cards anymore.
Looking Forward To: Birthday/anniversary week – this week is Brian’s birthday then our 4th anniversary then my birthday!  Busy week!

28 Week update

I had an eggplant at home this week!

How Far Along: 28 weeks
Total Weight Gain: At my monthly doctor’s appointment I was still up around 8lbs, so I will go with that since my scale seemed wonky this morning – if I went with my home scale it would put me up only 7lbs, and I don’t think that is right.
Maternity Clothes: Yes
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: I have been doing the normal wake up around 2-3 am thing as usual.  I got out of bed and went downstairs for about an hour 2 times this week. I was able to get back to sleep after watching some tv.  This weekend I slept pretty well – one night I didn’t wake up at all- crazy!
Best Moment This Week: Hearing Lucky’s heartbeat at my doctor’s appointment.  I also did the glucose test before my appointment.  It wasn’t too bad – I had the lemon/lime flavor and it was only about 10 oz.  I did have to drink it at the lab then hang out an hour then get my blood drawn, which was a little annoying, but I guess they don’t want people to miss the timing so they make you do it all there.  I haven’t heard back on my results yet.
Miss Anything: Running.  I think I went for my last run this week.  It wasn’t very long, but it started to feel pretty uncomfortable, so it may be time.
Movement: She has bouts of crazy movement lately – like kicking every few minutes, and then hours will go by where I don’t feel anything.  The kicks are getting much stronger than before. Sometimes I can feel her moving along my belly rather than a quick kick.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: Started to get a bit of heartburn this past week.  My boobs are pretty itchy lately.
Belly Button In or Out: In, but getting flatter
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: At my monthly OB appointment the doctor said I was measuring a little small (when they do the measurement of your belly from the outside) and that she wants to see me back in 3 weeks (instead of 4) to check again and if I am still measuring small she may have me get an ultrasound to check on the baby’s growth.
Of course this makes me nervous, thinking how she may not be growing enough, but I am trying to stay calm and assume those outside measurements aren’t very accurate and Lucky is growing as she should be.  This past week we saw extended family that we hadn’t seen for a while and everyone commented on how “small” my bump looks.  I know people don’t think this is a bad thing to tell a pregnant person, but to me it just makes me nervous.  I have had bump envy pretty much since the beginning of this pregnancy and the fact that my weight gain and bump size seem small and people keep mentioning it makes me uncomfortable.  I will just try to chalk it up to the fact that everyone carries differently and shows at different points.
Exercise: As I mentioned above, I think it is time for the running to be put to rest.  I am very happy that I was able to run through the 1st and 2nd trimesters, and I feel like trying to keep running at this point would be “pushing it” a bit.  I will continue to do my light weight lifting and squats so that I can maintain my muscle mass.  I plan to take Winnie for longer walks with my extra time I will have in the mornings!
Looking Forward To: Picking up the rocker for the nursery this coming weekend.

 Next Appointment: September 24th

27 Week Update

Sorry for my devil eyes this week!

How Far Along: 27 weeks
Total Weight Gain: 8lbs.  I am expecting to see some solid increases each week from here on out.
Maternity Clothes: Yes
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Not too terrible, but I still have very choppy nights.  It isn't because I am uncomfortable because of the pregnancy, I think it is more hormones and my usual sleep craziness.
Best Moment This Week: Reaching the 3rd trimester!  I can hardly believe it. Also the crib was delivered and we rolled out the rug in the nursery.  It is starting to look like a nursery in there and Brian and I really love it.  I can't wait to keep working on it.
 Miss Anything: not really
Movement: I don't feel movement all the time - when I am walking around or busy I usually don't feel anything.  When I sit down for a while I begin to feel her kick.  Brian loves to feel the kicks too.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: No, I had a few days where my stomach was a bit sour, but it seems to have gone away.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: I have outgrown most of my bras!  It is time to go up a size!  My cousin and SIL both recommended getting some nursing bras at this point because I will need them down the line anyway.
Belly Button In or Out: In, but I can definitely see that it is changing.
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: The knowledge that if she came out now she has a good chance of surviving somewhat puts me at ease, but not all that much.  I am still in the phase where if I don't feel her move for a while I start go get nervous, even though movement won't be regular until 28 weeks.
Exercise: I went for a couple runs and kept up with my lifting this week.  Yesterday I did yard work (hedge trimming, weeding) for a couple of hours and that made my muscles pretty sore!
Looking Forward To: My appointment tomorrow and hearing her heartbeat!

Next Appointment: September 3rd
