22 Week Update

Sorry my update is late!  Busy weekend!

How Far Along: 22 weeks
Total Weight Gain: 4-5lbs I expected to be up more at this point, but I am sure it will hit at some point!
Maternity Clothes: Yes
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Has gotten a bit better this past week.  I still get up around 4ish to go to the bathroom and have a difficult time getting back to sleep some nights.
Best Moment This Week: Going to Lake Placid to watch Brian compete in the Ironman!
Miss Anything: Not being able to sleep through the night
Movement: Definitely has picked up this past week – I feel her every day.  I mostly feel her at night right before I go to sleep.
Food Cravings: Soft serve ice cream still!  Up in Lake Placid I think I had one a day!
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope.  But my appetite hasn’t really increased all that much.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Waking up to pee, better skin
J at least right now!
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: I feel good both physically and mentally!  Brian admits sometimes he forgets I am pregnant because my belly isn’t that big.  I was happy that I felt good over the weekend at the Ironman because it was a long weekend!  The day of the race we woke up at 3:40 am and I was walking around and cheering people on most of the day, it was a long day, but I didn’t feel more tired than I normally would.
Exercise: I didn’t get a chance to exercise over the weekend while at the race, but I walked around so much there that I am sure I put in some miles.  This morning I went for a 3.5 mile run that felt great because it was a bit cooler than it was last week (it was maybe 65 out, which is awesome running weather).  I still walked up the big hill though.
Looking Forward To: Now that Brian has finished the Ironman, he will have more free time to do baby things!  So it is full steam ahead!  We want to look at more cribs this weekend and buy a nice camera.

21 Week Update

Not sure why I am weirdly looking into space in this picture!

How Far Along: 21 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I didn’t weight myself this week, but I feel like I am probably up about 5 lbs or maybe more.
Maternity Clothes: Yes, but still wearing a lot of my own shirts with maternity ones in there too
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: The only thing that has really vexed me with this pregnancy so far is the sleep.  The past week especially.  DH is doing his ironman triathlon this weekend, so sleep is important, but this week is when my insomnia has really kicked in.  I keep waking up at 2ish and that wakes him up and then we both can’t get back to sleep.  I am seriously considering sleeping in the guest room so I stop waking him up.
Best Moment This Week: My cousin dropped off some newborn and 3-6 month clothes that her 9 month old has outgrown.  I am excited to go through the clothes, hand me downs are awesome!
Miss Anything: Not being able to sleep through the night
Movement: I have been feeling some kicks every now and then.  They are not always the same or in the same place, but I am pretty sure they are all movement of some sort!
Food Cravings: Earlier in the week it was salty – cape cod potato chips specifically.  I am a bit surprised that my appetite hasn’t seemed to increase much.  I am not sure if it has been the heat this week (it was over 90 for like 5 days straight) or what but I am not any hungrier than I used to be pre-pregnancy.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope.
Gender: GIRL!  So DH and I were in Babies R Us on Saturday getting the lay of the land before we begin the registry process in a few weeks and I said to him “why don’t we buy an outfit for baby lucky”  well we walked into the girls clothing section and could not find 1 outfit we wanted to get her.  I think it is because we aren’t big pink frilly people.  We ended up buying gender neutral hats (green, yellow with turtles) because it was the only thing we liked that would work for a girl…this may be a problem!  Ha good thing my cousin dropped off all those girl clothes for us1
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Insomnia, peeing a lot.  On the bright side, my skin has been looking really good lately!  The first tri it was an eyesore but now it actually looks good!
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling We went on a “fact finding mission” on Saturday and hit up 3 stores.  The focus was on cribs, strollers and a rocker.  It went pretty well and I think we decided on a stroller. I am still pretty hesitant to pull the trigger on any big purchases, but I think we are going to have to do that soon if we want time to set up the nursery.
Exercise: It was SO HOT this week!  Like I would go outside at 6:30 am and it was already nearing 80 degrees and humid.  So needless to say the running was just not going to happen.  I still managed to get out for a lot of walks this week, and did my weights, but it wasn’t as good as usual.  Luckily this morning was in the low 70’s so I went for a run on my own and was able to do the whole thing (except I walked up the big hill).
Looking Forward To: Brian’s Ironman this coming weekend up in Lake Placid!  His sister and dad are coming up from PA and I haven’t seen his dad since I was 12 weeks and haven’t seen his sister since I have been pregnant.  Brian said to me that he thought I would look more pregnant at the time of the ironman, and I thought the same thing.  I expected to be noticeably pregnant and had this thought in my head of cheering him on with a nice belly.  Well unless I “pop” this week I may just look like his cheering wife that had a big lunch, ha!  I will have to find a shirt/pants combo that makes me look visibly pregnant.

So this week I am doing the 19/20 week picture as one.  The reason for this is because my bump pictures have always been 1 week behind my due date.  My bump pictures have been based off of my 8 week ultrasound dating instead of my actual due date.  Well it is getting confusing, so I am doing a combo week so my updates match up with my due date!  And yes, that is my dog’s nose in the picture this week J

How Far Along: 19/20 weeks
Total Weight Gain: +4lbs still, but I haven’t weighed myself after the weekend so it may be more!
Maternity Clothes: Yes, definitely pants.  Shirts I am still mostly in regular shirts.  I did go to Old Navy this past week to try on some pants/shirts, but the maternity section there was TERRIBLE so I ended up going to the regular clothes clearance section and getting some larger cheap shirts that will give me room to grow.
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Meh, still not good.  Some nights it is fine – Friday night I slept from 10pm straight to 5 am without waking up, then fell back asleep 6 am – 7am and that was pretty amazing!  Last night I tossed and turned a lot so I got maybe 5 hours all chopped up. Just depends on the night.
Best Moment This Week: Finding out we are having a healthy baby girl!!!
 Miss Anything: nope
Movement: Not so much.   Sometimes I think I am feeling some more movement, but I can’t tell.  I really hope it picks up.
Food Cravings: Twizzlers.  Luckily I told my mom this and she just happened to pick up a bag at the store, just one of the awesome things about having my mom live with us!
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope.
Gender: GIRL!  If you missed my reveal post, we announced it to family using pink silly string.  My brother got it on video- too funny!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Other than the not sleeping well, I really don’t have many symptoms.  Although it is supposed to be in the 90s here all week so I am sure that will bring on some fatigue.
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling:  The anatomy scan made me feel really good this week!  I was getting nervous about not feeling movement, but seeing our little girl dance around in there meant I should be feeling it soon!  The one thing that annoys me right now is how often people say to me “You don’t even look pregnant.”  I know they are saying it as a nice thing, but to someone who has gone through IF I immediately think “is something wrong?  Is the baby not big enough??” so that freaks me out a bit.  Although most people I spoke to said they didn’t pop until about 5 months, so I will probably see some good growth in the next few weeks.
Exercise: I made sure to go for a run/walk this morning before it got too hot.  It went well and I hope I can do that again sometime this week.  If the heat is too bad in the morning I may try to work out at the gym at work – maybe the elliptical one day this week.
Looking Forward To: I hope to go crib/stroller shopping this weekend if we have time.

We're Having A...

 GIRL!!!

We had our anatomy scan on Tuesday and everything looked good!  Baby girl looks healthy!  Brian and I are pretty sure we know the name but will be keeping it a secret until the baby is born.

On Tuesday we told my mom and called Brian's sister and parents and let them know.  Then on Wednesday night we had family dinner with my extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins grandpa) and were able to do our "reveal" using silly string!

Everyone wore either blue or pink depending on what they thought the baby would be.  I think only 1 person wore pink so there were a lot of surprised people!  My brother captured the whole thing on video and it is fun to hear the screams when the pink silly string started to pour out.

My SIL and brother gave us our first baby clothes!  They gave us 3 sleepers: 1 for a girl 1 for a boy and 1 neutral one, but I love the boy one a lot so I will probably keep it and put our girl in it anyway!  They also got us a cute lion stuffed animal because the nursery theme is yellow and gray.

I feel like I can now go out and buy a few things for the baby, even though I may not need to buy much since my SIL and cousin both said they have tons of girl clothes for me to borrow.  Their babies were born in the fall though, so I will probably need some smaller warmer things!

18 Weeks Update

I had to switch my normal picture taking wall because I couldn't deal with the red in our dining room anymore!

How Far Along: 18 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I haven't weighed myself recently, but I was 4 lbs last week.  I will update after doctor's appointment.
Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants - yes, some maternity shirts now, but mostly regular shirts that are long. I have been wearing a lot of skirts with elastic bands, but I never know whether I should put the waist right over my belly or right under it...both feel weird.
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: I have been sleeping pretty well this past week!  Still getting up to pee at least once between 2-4 am, but I am able to get back to sleep after.
Best Moment This Week: NBR, but my mom's offer on a house got accepted!  And the house is 2 blocks from our house!  Since she will be watching Lucky 3 days a week this will be really convenient for everyone!
 Miss Anything: nope
Movement: I was a little sad (and nervous) that I didn't feel Lucky move this week nearly as much as I did last week.  I am not sure if this because of where Lucky was positioned or because I was moving around more this week than last week, but I really hope the movements pick up more because it makes me really nervous.
Food Cravings: Same as last week - Soft serve ice cream and popsicles!
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope.
Gender: July 9th!  Ahh 2 more days, I can hardly believe it!  Look for a reveal post this week!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: It has been 90+ degrees here all week and I can't handle the heat very well.  I don't handle heat very well normally, but now it is unbearable.
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: When I started to write "18 weeks" on my chalkboard today I had to pause for a moment.  I couldn't believe that I am 18 weeks pregnant.  It just boggles my mind.  I remember going through treatments and seeing people's blogs that were 18 weeks and thought it was such a distant dream, and here I am, wow, just wow.
Exercise: Exercise has taken a bit of a hit this week with the weather.  I can barely go for long walks in this weather let alone run.  I am hoping the heat breaks a bit so I can get back into it a bit.  For now I will keep up with the weight lifting and walking.
Looking Forward To: The anatomy scan on Tuesday! I can't believe that Lucky will be revealed to be either a boy or a girl this week, I have always just thought of Lucky as "baby" with no specific sex.
Next Appointment: July 9th

17 Week Update

We had an onion this week - how exciting!

How Far Along: 17 weeks
Total Weight Gain: 4 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants - yes, some maternity shirts now, but mostly regular shirts that are long.
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: I only really had 1 bad sleep night this week where I had to get up and do something else for an hour.  I answered some work emails and my coworker thought her email was messed up because I emailed her at 3 am.  I told her "no it is my sleep that is messed up"
Best Moment This Week: I started to feel some movement!  It feels like very light vibrations.  Like a little vrrrr.  It is lower than I expected it to be.  I felt a lot of them while we were watching the movie Get Him to The Greek, so I am thinking the baby has a good sense of humor ;)
 Miss Anything: nope
Movement: see above!
Food Cravings: Soft serve ice cream and popsicles!
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope.
Gender: July 9th!  1 more week!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Baby movement and I am hungrier
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: I am loving the movement!  Any sign that things are going well is totally welcome!
Exercise: It has been really humid this past week, so my running has suffered a bit.  I still go out with full intention to run 3 miles, but I end up walking some of it because of hills or just being scared that it is too much for my body.  I am still doing well with the w
Looking Forward To: Getting our rooms set up!  We pretty much finished up the guest room for my mom, and we ordered some furniture for our bedroom.  Once those are all set it will be full steam ahead nursery!  I pretty much picked out the crib I want this weekened based on how Baby Bargains reviewed the maker and looking at other options.
Next Appointment: July 9th
