Juliet is 6 Months!

General
Hmm not really sure how much Juliet weighs now, but she made the move from size 2 to size 3 diapers this month and she is in 6 month clothing so she must be chunking up quickly! I would guess around 15 lbs. UPDATE: at her 6 month appointment Juliet was 15 lbs 1.5oz  It seems like she is getting bigger much faster than Ellie did.  I will update you in a week or 2 when she has her 6 month appointment.  Juliet has rolled both ways now but doesn't do it very often.  She is getting super strong at tummy time but still doesn't care for it that much.  She has started to push herself backwards on the floor when she does tummy time.  She has gotten so grabby this month - nothing on the table in front of her is safe!  We went out to Fudruckers for burgers one night and my burger tray was in front of me and I had taken about 2 bites and she got her little paw on it and BAM - my dinner was all over the ground! She is still a major drooler, but no teeth have poked through yet.

Feeding/Sleeping
Juliet is still waking up about 2 times per night.  Typically I put her down at 7 pm and she wakes up at 12:30 am and then again at 4:30 am and then sleeps until about 7 am. She is usually pretty good about going back to sleep after I feed her but I am starting to think she is getting into a bad habit with needing to be nursed to sleep.  I try to put her back down awake to see if she can get herself to sleep and that usually works in the middle of the night but not for nap time or putting her to sleep for the first time.

She is still sleeping in a Merlin suit.  I tried to switch her to a sleep sack but putting her to sleep got really lengthy when I did that - so now she is back in the Merlin.

Jules usually takes 3 shorter naps (30 min - 1 hour) a day or 2 naps (1 long and one shorter) but no real schedule.  Her longest naps happen when she falls asleep in her car seat.  Naps in her crib don't last quite as long.

I started Juliet on some solids this month - mostly because she seems so into food when we are eating.  She is having a lot of fun with the foods even though most ends up on her face.  So far she has tried:
Oatmeal cereal
Sweet Potatoes
Peas
Pears
Prunes

Work

Not much to report here.  I had a phone interview for a new part time job but it would pay less than half of what I make now with no real reduction in hours so I was like "um no thank you"  I am still waiting to see if my current job will be around in a few months.

The Girls
My little ladies are starting to interact with each other more and more.  Ellie often asks to hold Juliet - she never did this in the first 4 months of Juliet's existence. I love first thing in the morning when I lay the two down next to each other and they both look over at each other and smile.  Then usually Juliet grabs onto Ellie's pajamas and Ellie says "MOM Juliet is pushing me" haha but it is great for the first 3 seconds... I can't wait to watch their relationship continue to develop.

Body/Recovery

I have started getting back into exercising.  I try to go to the gym at work when I am in the office and on Fridays I go to the YMCA.  I mostly do strength exercises (push ups, sit ups, squats, weights, etc) mostly because I don't have enough time to do those and cardio and because I am looking more to tone as things got a bit saggy after I hadn't been exercising for a while.

House Update
The house is soooo close to being complete - I can almost taste it! They delivered and installed our new tub this week (long story) and I finally got to take a bath in it!  It was glorious!  Things left to be done:

Install light fixture above tub
Install plantation shudders in bathroom and hallways
Paint exterior house

We are starting the next phase of work this Friday - landscaping!  Ha it never ends.  I am very curious to watch how they will remove a couple large trees from our backyard.  I can't wait for the mud pit of a backyard to become a real space for Ellie to play!  Right now she just loves chasing Winnie around and doesn't care that it is dirt with rocks and sticks and it is super uneven.

I just love Ellie's expression in this picture - CHEESE!
