Not Pregnancy Related – Mom living with us Day 1

So my mom recently sold her house (she lived in the same town as us) and moved in with Brian and I while she continues to try to find a new house.  You would think the selling your house part is stressful, but with today’s market she is having trouble finding a house because there is so much competition!

I was never really worried about my mom coming to stay with us because she is very helpful, quiet, not nosey, etc.  She moved in yesterday and walked Winnie last night because I got home late due to a flat tire. Now today she is taking my car to get the tire fixed and an oil change while I am at work.  She is retired so she will be walking Winnie midday each day so we don’t need to have the dog walker come.

So overall Day 1 has been a huge success! Ha I don’t know if every day will be this good, but I think she is trying to be as helpful to us as possible while she is living with us since she has free time and will be at the house while we are at work.

Brian and I just have to remember not to walk around the house half naked now! Ha.

16 Week Update

I totally bought an avocado at the store this week, but then I used it, so sorry no avocado in the picture!  Sorry you can't see much since I am wearing black!

How Far Along: 1 weeks
Total Weight Gain: 3.5 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants - yes, maternity shirts - no.  And lots of loose skirts and dresses.
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: I still wake up 1-2 times per night, but don't usually have to get out of bed for extended periods of time.
Best Moment This Week: Hmm tough one this week -nothing major happend so I will just say spending time with my extended family!
 Miss Anything: nope
Movement: Nope
Food Cravings: I have been craving soft serve ice cream.  We don't have many places close enough for me to walk to, and it hasn't gotten bad enough that I want to get in the car to go get some.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope, looks like I am past that!  Although we had Chinese food at a family party yesterday and it didn't sit super well.
Gender: July 9th!  2 more weeks! ahhh!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: I have started getting noticeably hungrier.  I bought a bunch of snacks to put in my work drawer and car so that I can grab something when the hangry strikes!
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: I feel good, but I am sort of waiting to start showing - nobody can really tell I am pregnant yet.  I notice my stomach is bigger, but not enough for others to really see yet.  I am hoping for more growth over the next 2 weeks because it would feel funny to know the sex of the baby and still not really be showing!
Exercise: Exercise was good this week - still running and lifting weights.  It has been getting hot this past week so I need to make sure not to push it hard.
Looking Forward To: Getting our rooms set up!  We pretty much finished up the guest room for my mom, and we ordered some furniture for our bedroom.  Once those are all set it will be full steam ahead nursery!  I pretty much picked out the crib I want this weekened based on how Baby Bargains reviewed the maker and looking at other options.
Next Appointment: July 9th

These Dreams are Fun

I always heard that people have vibrant dreams while pregnant.  This seems to be true for me.  I don't remember my dreams very often, but I had a fun one the other night that I wanted to share.

I don't remember all of it, I just remember that DH had laid out long stem red roses, speared with cupcakes (kabob style) on the bed.  The bed was also scattered with peanuts.  In the dream DH was trying to "entice" me and I guess this is what he thought would work!

15 Week Update

Don't expect a corresponding fruit every week!  I have only been getting the ones I know I will eat!

How Far Along: 15 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I think I am about +2-3lbs at this point.
Maternity Clothes: Pretty much have given up on the belly band.  Doing mostly maternity pants and stretchy skirts/dresses, but still in normal shirts.
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Hasn't been too terrible, mostly going to bed around 9:30/10pm and waking up around 5/5:30am, with of course, some midnight wake ups
Best Moment This Week: Asking my cousin a bunch of pregnancy/baby questions I had been wondering about.  I finished reading What to Expect When you are Expecting and I had some follow up questions!
 Miss Anything: nope
Movement: Nope
Food Cravings: Still on the lemonade kick, although I try not to drink more than one glass a day because there is really no redeeming qualities to it nutritionally.  I have also been on an omelet kick at work, I get an egg white omelet with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach and cheddar 2-3 times per week.  I am usually not a big egg person.
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Not really.  I had a few times where I felt a bit nauseous  but it passed pretty quickly.
Gender: July 9th!  Getting excited as we are about 3 weeks away!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: not all that many.
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: Feeling good.  Aside from still being tired, I feel really good.
Exercise: Great!  My cousin lent me her dog's training collar that they aren't using any more.  I tried it out on winnie during this morning's run and it totally stopped her from pulling.  This will be a life saver when I get big.
Looking Forward To: Getting the guest room set up for my mom (she will be staying with us because she sold her house and hasn't found a new one yet).  Once the guest room is complete we will start on the nursery!

The meds have left the building

One of the things I have been most excited about since our BFP (other than the whole being pregnant part), was the fact that I had left over medication from IUI #6 that we didn't have to go through with.  I have been looking forward to making it to the second trimester so that I felt confident enough to email the OOP Meds program and get matched up with ladies that needed my meds.

The OOP Meds program matched me up with 4 separate ladies that needed my meds, and I shipped the last one out yesterday.  Brian and I were so fortunate to have the IF coverage that we did.  When I total up how much the meds would have cost without coverage it breaks my heart.

I can't tell you how good it felt when I got an email from a med recipient that said "this donation will allow us to go through with IVF #2." There is no better feeling!

Week 14 Update

How Far Along: 14 weeks
Total Weight Gain: Still hanging at +2 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Mixture of loose skirts and maternity pants.  I wore some work pants with the belly band this past week and it kept bunching up and drove me nuts, so I may stick with my bigger regular pants and maternity pants!
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Our bigger bed arrived yesterday!  I am hoping it will help with my sleep troubles (or at least allow me not to wake Brian up every time I turn over)
Best Moment This Week: Hearing Lucky's heart beat at my OB appointment.
Miss Anything: I went to my godson's baptism today and at the luncheon after it there was a lot of stuff I couldn't eat (or wasn't sure if I could or not).
Movement: Nope
Food Cravings: Lemonade!
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Nope, it looks like I am over the few weeks of "sour" tummy that I had during the first tri.
Gender: Not yet, but the ultrasound is scheduled for July 9th!!  1 more month!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Sometimes at night I have been feeling a little crampy.
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: Still feeling good!  It is funny how when you are pregnant people seem to ask you that every time they see you!
Exercise: Doing well.  Although I am ready to ditch Winnie on some of these runs because when the temp gets above 72 she likes to find patches of shade and lay down mid run!  She is totally cramping my style ;)
Looking Forward To: My coworker coming back to work on Monday (she is due the same week as me and has been in India for 2 months!)
Next Appointment: July 9th

Spreadsheets are my thing

So I have always been a list maker, ever since I was younger.  Starting when I was 12 I would go to the mall with my mom and I would always have a list of the clothes I wanted to buy for going back to school. So it makes sense that when starting to think about a registry I am going full force with the spreadsheet!

Something about how organized spreadsheets are calms the overwhelmed feeling I get when thinking about registering.  I can put down items I think I will want to include over the next few months so I have everything in one place when the time comes.  I can make tabs to compare “big ticket” items like strollers and cribs.

I got a very nice email from my cousin that said she and my other cousin (who both have young babies) were willing to lend me anything they won’t need for their babies when Lucky comes.  This would be great because then I wouldn’t have to register for some of the infant-6 months items that I may not use for very long anyway.  Between my SIL and two cousins we have both boys and girls so they said whichever sex I have I can also borrow clothes (as long as the sizing makes sense).

I have my monthly OB appointment tomorrow!  DH won’t be going with me because I figured they will just be weighing me, taking blood pressure, etc. Although I do hope I get to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler again.

Week 13 Update

I am in that weird fat rather than bump phase...

How Far Along: 13 weeks
Total Weight Gain: Still hanging at +1.5 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Mixture of loose skirts and maternity pants.  I haven’t ventured back into trying on regular clothes lately…but I think I may this week, possibly with the belly band
 Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Still the sleep issue, but I only had to get out of bed once this week due to being restless.
Best Moment This Week: Telling people at work including my boss.  He confirmed that I could work a reduced schedule when I come back from maternity leave and I am very thankful for that.
Miss Anything: We went to a BBQ at a friend’s house on Saturday night and I missed having a drink or two out on the patio.
Movement: Nope
Food Cravings: Ice cream!  But I haven’t really gotten any to soothe my craving because there isn’t a decent ice cream place close enough!
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Not so much anymore, I have been feeling less of the queasiness I felt between weeks 7-11
Gender: Not yet
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Getting up to pee at night, heartburn
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Feeling: Remarkably well, I sometimes forget I am pregnant during the day because I don’t feel any different!
Exercise: Still trucking!  It has been in the 90’s for the last 3 days around here so I went for walks over the weekend instead of runs.  It cooled off this morning so I took Winnie for a run in the rain.
Looking Forward To: OB appointment on Friday
Next Appointment: June 7th
